Nottingham Studio - Maximum of 4 Students. If you're looking to master the manual mode on your camera and develop your composition skills, then this is the workshop for you! This is a relaxed, day long workshop based at the Nottingham Studio, five minutes from the M1 and within walking distance of Wollaton Park. We banish jargon and explain in plain english how to use manual mode like a pro and take your photos from great to spectacular simply by deploying your secret weapon, which is composition. Mastering manual on your camera will allow you to shoot landscapes with filters, create landscapes with 'smooth water' or moving clouds, photograph fireworks, light trails and images at night. Photographing Awesome Small Creatures. Our Critter workshops are back!!! We're delighted to be offering three hour photography experiences again at White Post Farm in North Nottinghamshire photographing a variety of fascinating creatures such as snakes, tarantulas, lizards, frogs, cockroaches, geckos, stick insects, millipedes and giants snails. Tom, their handler, will be with us to introduce us to them and tell us all about them, along with tutor and photographer Louise, who will guide you through photographing these amazing creatures and will be with you offering advice and guidance on composition to create stunning images, the importance of depth of field in close up work, the use of props and backgrounds, and any technical information or help that you might need. Matlock Bath Illuminations and Fireworks: Join us in Matlock Bath to photograph the spectacle and splendour of the annual illuminations and fireworks! This will be our third year of running this fabulous evening event, where we'll be in a nice small group and you'll have the opportunity to learn and put into practice how to photograph in low light and at night time, to refine those photography skills if you already have them or simply shoot a series of stunning night time images. For those of you unfamiliar with the Illuminations, it's a unique event where huge models are constructed based on a given theme and are decorated with lights, mounted onto individual rowing boats and parade them down the river Derwent to great effect. There are also usually a variety of other things happening providing lots of opportunities for photos, including stilt walkers, street vendors and a fair, where you can play with motion blur! Cadwell Park Stage Rally and Fireworks. Fine tune your action photography skills and perfect that panning with a full day at the last event of the year at Cadwell Park, with the North Humberside Stage Rally providing the action during the day and finishing off with a huge fireworks display in the evening. This is a cracking full day out at one of the leading motorsport circuits in the UK and is a must for any motorsport enthusiast. You'll be accompanied by professional photographer and tutor Louise Mills, who will guide you through the skills and various techniques to capture all of the action, suggest ideas to help improve your composition and as the light drops, she will talk you through photographing the glowing brake discs and explosive exhausts in low lighting conditions and shooting fireworks.
