From watching the magic of processing in a homemade darkroom with my dad as a small boy to moving to the Lake District to pursue my passion for landscape photography, my life has, in some way, been connected to photography. This has included over thirty years working as a music, press and commercial photographer through to working in educational settings passing on my knowledge to the photographers of tomorrow. My own education has followed a photographic path culminating in 2007 with a Masters degree in photography.
Photography is something I love and would do without payment just for the joy of it.
My mission as a landscape photographer is to capture the light and my surroundings in a way which does justice to its beauty and scale. Every available opportunity will find me roaming the lakes and fells with my Border Collie Bob, camera in hand in search of the spectacular.
My primary teaching goal is to make you a better landscape photographer, but I will be introducing more varied courses over time. My experience in press and commercial work means I have, by necessity, turned my hand to most photographic situations. I intend to make use of this experience by offering a range of courses including, but not limited to, natural light portraiture, macro photography and drone photography as well as offering Going Digital’s beginners courses.
My experience in educational settings means I am ideally placed to pass this wealth of knowledge on to you and look forward to seeing you in the beautiful Lake District.
