AUTUMN PHOTOGRAPHY WALK – STUDLEY ROYAL DEER PARK

Get out with your camera and join Kate for an autumn photography walk through beautiful Studley Royal Deer Park at Fountains Abbey.

The deer will be our main photographic focus as we explore the park, looking for opportunities to capture portraits, behaviour and deer within the wider landscape. October is also rutting season, so we may be lucky enough to see some of the action — although the deer are wild animals, so sightings and behaviour can never be guaranteed.

This isn't a formal teaching workshop. It's a relaxed, supported photography walk with a small group of like-minded photographers. Kate will be on hand throughout with ideas, inspiration and practical help — whether that's spotting photographic opportunities, thinking about composition or helping with camera settings.

We'll also make the most of the wider autumn environment, looking for beautiful light, colour and landscape photographs that place the deer within their surroundings, as well as other photographic opportunities along the way.

The walk runs from 8.00am–11.00am and covers approximately 3 miles. Afterwards, anyone who would like to can join us for a coffee at the café by the car park.

Skill level: Intermediate – you should be comfortable moving away from Auto and have a basic understanding of your camera controls.

Equipment: A camera and long lens are essential, with 300mm or longer recommended for the best opportunities with the deer. You may also want to bring a standard or wider lens to make the most of the beautiful autumn landscapes around Studley Royal Deer Park.

Terrain & accessibility: This is an outdoor walking session covering approximately 3 miles over paths and grass, with hills, uneven ground and tree roots. Conditions may be muddy following wet weather. Please make sure you're comfortable with the distance and terrain before booking.

Parking: Parking charges apply and are not included in the workshop price.
