HAREWOOD ESTATE SPRING PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE

Join us for a very special spring photography experience exploring the private side of Harewood Estate, with access to areas of this beautiful working estate that aren't normally open to the public.

Travelling around the estate on the access trailer, we'll spend five hours exploring and photographing Harewood as it bursts back into life for spring — from bluebell woodlands and fresh spring landscapes to Highland cattle with their calves and the deer that roam the parkland.

One of the real highlights of the day is the opportunity to photograph views across the Harewood landscape that the general public simply doesn't get to see. The parkland was designed by Capability Brown to create beautiful views and vistas across the estate and towards Harewood House, and our private access takes us to some wonderful photographic viewpoints.

We'll be joined throughout the day by Harewood Estate's Outdoor Education Officer, John Gillian, whose incredible knowledge of the estate, its history and wildlife means no two visits are ever quite the same. If there's something to know about Harewood, John usually knows it!

I'll be there throughout too, helping you make the most of each opportunity — whether that's choosing settings, working on composition, capturing the wider landscape or getting the best from your wildlife photographs.

We'll stop whenever inspiration strikes, and around lunchtime we'll pause for a packed lunch in one of the estate's scenic locations, weather permitting. We usually finish the day in the deer park, giving us one final opportunity for wildlife photography before heading back.

Harewood is a working estate and its wildlife is free to roam, so we can never guarantee exactly what we'll encounter. That's part of what makes each visit different — and with John's knowledge of the estate, we'll always make the most of whatever spring gives us on the day.

Who is this experience for?

You don't need to be an advanced photographer, but you should be comfortable using Aperture Priority.

This is a relaxed photography experience rather than a formal classroom workshop. There will be plenty of photographic guidance and support throughout the day, but you'll also have time to explore, photograph and enjoy this very special location.

• Telephoto lens — 200mm or longer recommended for wildlife
• Standard or wide-angle lens for landscapes

• Graduated filters if you have them

Joining Instructions

Full meeting details and joining instructions will be emailed approximately one week before the experience.

Accessibility & Terrain

We'll spend much of the day travelling around the estate on the access trailer, allowing us to reach photographic locations across the estate without long walks.

There will still be periods of walking over uneven ground, including fields, woodland paths and rough terrain, as we leave the trailer to photograph different areas.

You'll need to be able to get on and off the trailer unaided and walk short distances over uneven ground. Sturdy, waterproof footwear and clothing suitable for the weather are recommended. Please contact us before booking if you'd like to discuss any mobility or accessibility requirements.
