Introduction To Photography - Get Off Auto: If you're stuck on the Auto setting on your camera and frustrated because you're not getting the photos that you want, then this is the course for you! This workshop will have a maximum of 3 students, will last between 3 and 4 hours and will start at 10am set within the beautiful grounds of Hall Place & Gardens, where we banish jargon and explain in plain English how to take control of your camera and get off Auto. The theory part of this workshop is conducted in the onsite Cafe followed by plenty of practise out in the grounds and useful reference materials emailed afterwards.

Here’s what you will learn:

• f-stops - we'll tell you what these are and how to use them creatively to create both that dreamy background blur and to ensure your landscape is all in focus
• Focussing - we'll show you how to make your camera focusin exactly the correct place to get those elusive shots with pin point accuracy
• White Balance - how to change the colours in your photo if they're not what you see or what you want
• Exposure Compensation - learn how to make your photos brighter or darker with no need for editing
• Buttons and Dials - we'll help you understand what they do, how to change them and how and when to use them so that you have a better understanding of, and feel more confident with your camera

A fun, sociable and educational day, running from 10am until 2pm

Tuition from an experienced professional photographer and course notes emailed to you afterwards to support your learning- Both theory and practical time, so that you get the best of both worlds and get the most from the day no matter what your learning style
