CLOSE-UP & MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY - Discover just how much there is to photograph when you start looking a little closer.

Close-up and macro photography is a wonderful way to get creative with your camera — finding colour, texture, pattern and tiny details that we often completely overlook. During this relaxed, hands-on workshop we'll experiment with flowers and a variety of small subjects, exploring composition, backgrounds and lighting to create beautiful and sometimes quite unexpected images. We'll have plenty of interesting props and subjects ready for you to experiment with, and you're very welcome to bring along anything you'd particularly like to photograph too. The workshop takes place in our studio in Morley, Leeds and is limited to just TWO photographers, so there'll be lots of individual help, plenty of time to experiment and the opportunity to share ideas and inspiration as we go. The aim isn't just to learn about close-up photography — it's to slow down, play, try something different and go home with photographs you might never have thought to create. Time: 10.30am–3.30pm

Skill level: 2 – an understanding of Aperture Priority is required. You'll need a macro lens or standard 18–55mm lens (or similar) and a tripod. We have loan tripods available — simply leave a note when booking. Full joining details will be sent nearer the time.
