YorkshireBIRDS OF PREY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP - Step inside the private grounds of a beautiful 18th-century home for a unique birds of prey photography experience unlike any other. Hidden behind the historic property are mature trees, weathered brick walls, rustic wooden doors and a collection of characterful garden spaces, creating a wonderful variety of natural backdrops for photographing a stunning selection of birds of prey. From beautifully lit portraits to dramatic birds in flight, you'll spend the morning capturing memorable images while receiving expert guidance and support throughout the session. With a maximum of just six photographers, you'll enjoy plenty of one-to-one tuition as you develop both your confidence and your wildlife photography skills.
Whether you're hoping to capture the intensity of an owl's gaze or the drama of a hawk in full flight, this workshop is designed to help you come away with images you'll be proud to share.
Online Training (Pre-Workshop)
A few days before the practical session, we'll meet online for a relaxed Zoom presentation (usually held around 6:00pm on a Wednesday). During this session we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most from the workshop, including camera settings, techniques for photographing wildlife and birds in flight, and what to expect on the day. It's also the perfect opportunity to ask questions from the comfort of your own home. If you can't attend live, don't worry — the session is recorded so you can watch it whenever suits you.
In-Person Photography Session
We'll meet at 10:00am at Snaith Railway Station, just a two-minute walk from our private location. After a short welcome and introduction, experienced falconer Kira will introduce the birds, share a little about their personalities and the important conservation work she does before we begin photographing. We'll start with portrait photography, making use of the beautiful surroundings and varied natural backdrops before moving on to more dynamic birds-in-flight photography later in the session. Throughout the morning you'll be encouraged to move around each bird, exploring different angles, perspectives and backgrounds while receiving plenty of individual guidance to help you improve your camera settings, composition and technique, aiming to finish a 1pm.
Personal Photo Review
After the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to submit a small selection of your favourite images for a personal Zoom review. Together we'll look at what's working well, identify opportunities for improvement and help you continue developing your wildlife photography long after the workshop has finished.

This workshop is ideal if you have either:
